The use of these is guaranteed to make a very big change in your looks.

There are so many different looks you can try, you could simply fancy a change of color and this is great. The old saying goes ‘a change is as good as a rest’ and I think that applies to just about anything in life.

You can also choose to try something really way out, really freaky, if you have the nerve. There are designs that look like flames, some that look like animals, cats domestic and wild, and odd things like checkers and spirals, etc.

There are some designs that truly are really creepy, like total eye cover that looks like a mouthful of jagged teeth!! Iris’ that are all white with just black in the middle. Red seems to be very popular at the moment, now that does look queer.

Your choice depends totally on how much of a shock you want to give to your friends.

Whatever you choose in design be sure you buy your special effects contact lenses from a reputable supplier. This is essential for the safety of your eyes, you need to know that these contact lenses are made to high specifications and are not dangerous in any way.

With the popularity of colored contact lenses has come a rash of cheap lenses onto the market from eastern countries. I am not saying that everything that comes via the east is substandard but there definitely are some manufacturers who are less than scrupulous in their production methods.

You only get one pair of eyes and it is down to you to look after them, do not take any unnecessary risks with your eyesight that you might regret later.

Never ever share contacts with anyone, even your friends, this is a sure fire way to pass on infections.

Always be sure to take them out when you go to bed and make sure they are cleansed properly using the correct solutions recommended by your supplier.

Even if you choose to buy online you are going to be asked for a prescription either from your doctor or from your eye specialist. This is for your safety so don’t feel put out because you have to provide this.

If you are contemplating dealing with a particular supplier and they are not bothered about a prescription, this should start the warning bells ringing – listen to them. This company is obviously not in the least bothered about your eye safety.

Don’t deal with them for your special effects contact lenses, there are so many reputable suppliers both online and offline that you absolutely do not have to deal with anyone who is less than reputable.

If you want to freak out your friends you will certainly manage that if you wear some of these special effects contacts.

Some designs are just different but others are really over the top and completely weird.

A number of suppliers advertise the contacts as being Halloween contacts or theatrical contacts, but I think Party contacts is probably a good name because I imagine that the party situation is where most of these weird and wonderful contacts are worn.

Wherever you buy your contacts you are still going to need them fitted by an eye care professional. Don’t run away with the idea that you can buy them and just slap them in yourself if you have never had contacts before.

You could do this, but I do not want to think about the damage you could do to your eyes and also the contacts.

You may have perfect sight but just want a change, but you still need a prescription for contacts, some companies advertise no prescription being needed but you would be well advised to see an eye care specialist before you use them for the first time.

You also will need advice on how to take care of these special effects contacts so you don’t wear them out prematurely, especially if you have paid a good price.

I do think if you are going to put anything in your eyes you should abide by any reputable company ruling that you get a bone fide prescription in order to be able to buy them. You wouldn’t want to damage your eye sight, it is too precious.

The prescription you need is called ‘Prescription [RX]‘ that you need to get special effects contacts. You will find on some company advertisements these are called either Cosmetic or Rx, cosmetic meaning no sight correction.

These contacts must be treated the same way as any other normal contacts, they must not be worn at night and they should always be cleansed properly and only with approved cleaning solutions.

If you need sight correction contact lenses I would advise that you also have normal ones as well as funky special effects contacts. You might not feel able to wear your fun contacts all the time, especially if your work situation would not encourage this. Plus I think if you wore them all the time you might get sick of them.

There are some special effects contacts which are just made to make your eyes look bigger and they are really very inexpensive and they look very good.

There is an absolutely enormous selection of colors and designs available and also a wide range of prices.

Colored contact lenses can be fun and can make such a difference to how a person looks, but you must be careful to use them properly.

Cleaning of contact lenses, including Halloween contacts, is critical. You must always wash your hands in soap and water before handling the lenses.

Something you might not consider but you should always wear water-soluble cosmetics when you wear contacts. There are some other cosmetics which will state that they are safe to wear when also wearing contacts so you would be safe with those.

You shouldn’t wear the opaque type of lenses if you suffer from any problem with night vision.

If you have young family and you see them wearing colored contacts always make sure that they bought them from a legal supplier and that they are wearing them correctly and safely.

You might want these Halloween contacts because you want them to complete a costume which you are going to wear to a special party and that´s fine, but remember, your eyes want to look good after the party. They don’t want to be red and sore, that isn’t a good look.

Do not buy used contact lenses from anyone else neither let anyone borrow yours. This could be asking to get an eye infection. This is one big no-no swopping contact lenses!

There is such a diversity of designs if I was going to choose party contacts I just don’t know which I would choose. I have just seen some with a leopard print for the colored iris, plus a black cat’s head on a white background, a pointed black star on a white background and numerous others, all equally startling.

You are guaranteed to make people do a triple take never mind a double take when you walk out wearing these contacts.

Single color lenses are the least expensive way to give your eyes a new look. You could look completely different with just a different eye color.

Dual colored contacts means they have dual layers of pigment and these make a stronger statement. The dual layer are recommended if your normal eye color is brown because they will cover the brown completely. Your eyes will look absolutely beautiful in

With Halloween contacts you can look like a vampire, a zombie, an animal or many other wacky creatures. Change your baby blues into wild and wacky peepers.

You don’t need to wait for a party to just change your eye color, there are many lovely colored contacts which will just enhance your own eyes, single color lenses that let your natural sparkle shine through.

Anyone can wear special effect contact lenses whether they need a sight correction prescription or not.

However, most companies insist that you have a prescription either from your doctor or from an eye care specialist when you buy these lenses.

They are not something you can just pop in if you have never had contact lenses before, care must be taken to insert them properly. Plus you need to learn how to take of the lenses in order to lengthen their life and to make sure you do not get any infections in your eyes.

Some of these special effects are quite odd, one I particularly think as odd has black where the normal white of the eye is then white where the eye is normally black – a very queer look.

I think one of the most popular contacts at the moment is the red, i.e. where the normal iris color is this is red, odd but popular.

You don’t have to pick anything really gothic or scary to be different, some are pink with a black outline and they come in other soft shades also.

If for instance you wanted your eyes to look like those of Paris Hilton you would need something called Opaques. The ones she wears are hand painted and come with an expensive price tag plus I understand they are very hard to find in the US and Canada.

There are others which will give you the same look, with the darker ring around the iris which accentuates the color.

Hand painted means that they are just that, hand painted in between layers. Don’t think that any of this painting would be touching your eyes because it wouldn’t.

There are plenty of different styles if you want to go the whole hog and give your eyes the look of a cat or lizard with perhaps red or yellow iris colors.

There are colored spiral designs, explosion effects and flame effects, as well as solid color special effects contact lenses.

I would think whatever effect you were aiming for you are going to be able to find the correct lenses to give this look. There are so many different manufacturers and sites where you can look it shouldn’t be hard.

I would advise you to be careful about the lenses you buy because the US market is being flooded with cheap products from Asia and China and they do not meet the criteria of the FDA.

You could be putting something in your eye which could be potentially damaging because of the materials used to produce these contact lenses.

As with any contact lens, it is not recommended that you sleep with them in. You should always remove them before going to bed and make sure they are properly cleansed to safeguard your eyes.
